Partners Richard M. Busofsky, CPA, and Glenn M. Lankford, CPA, Retire from Hantzmon Wiebel CPA Firm

Charlottesville, VA – On December 31, 2023, Hantzmon Wiebel LLP partners Richard M. Busofsky, CPA, and Glenn M. Lankford, CPA, will retire from the firm after more than 65 years of combined service.

Busofsky will enter into full retirement attending live music concerts and spending time with his six adorable grandchildren and other family, while Lankford will stay on as a part-time consultant for the firm until April 15, after which time, he and his wife will move to the West Coast.

Both Busofsky and Lankford have witnessed a lot of changes over the years, but they also obtained a lot of knowledge and became experts in the industry. Eager as young CPAs, they embraced hard work and opportunities to learn and absorb as much information as they could, eventually landing partnership roles.

Busofsky began his career in public accounting in 1980 and joined Hantzmon Wiebel in 1988. Instrumental to the tax team, he navigated tax compliance for just about any situation you can imagine.

Reflecting on his time at Hantzmon Wiebel, Rich says,

What I remember the most about my 35 years with Hantzmon Wiebel are the relationships that I have developed and maintained. With both fellow partners and team members as well as satisfying relationships with my clients.

Lankford joined the firm in 1990. He specialized in partnerships, estate planning and administration, and international taxation.

When asked about the best thing about being a partner at Hantzmon Wiebel, Lankford says,

The best thing about being a partner at Hantzmon Wiebel is the feeling of having reached the pinnacle of my profession, and hopefully setting a good example for others who may have the ambition to do the same.

Hantzmon Wiebel has served as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, family businesses, and nonprofit organizations since 1928. They recognize the value of their history while reaching forward to stay ahead of the curve and continue to expand.
